Foreign Athletes skiing in the USA
Please remind again all your skiers who ski in the USA to update their profile in the US system with their Federation and their EMS ID number. If they don’t do it or if they put a wrong ID number, their IWWF License will not be recognized by the US system when registering to US tournaments and their results will not count for the World Waterski Ranking List. Should they need help with the US system, please ask them to contact Robert Howerton robert6262@aol.com or Melanie Hanson mhanson@usawaterski.org at USA-WSWS.
World Waterski Ranking List: message to the Waterski scorers
From mid-2024, the World Waterski Ranking List will only be calculated from the individual results uploaded to EMS and no more from results/scorebooks published in the Lion Scoring System or sent via a WST file to iwsf.com (Bob Corson). The calculation rules in EMS will be the same as in the past, according to Waterski rulebook.
Attention! The 2023 results will be included. Therefore, please check that you have correctly uploaded all your 2023 results to EMS. The EMS Scorers Support Team is at your disposal, should you have any question on the upload process (see next page, contact persons in your respective Confederations).
You will receive more information on the new World Waterski Ranking List nearer the implementation date. The European Waterski Ranking List will follow later this year.
Online payments of competition fees with PayPal
PayPal is available in more than 200 countries and support 25 currencies. Many countries have a local PayPal customer service. Please contact them if you have a question or an issue regarding your Business PayPal account to collect your competition fees. Here are the supported countries and currencies:

We advise the Event Organisers to organise their online payments well in advance (set up your PayPal Business Account if not yet done, contact your Federation Administrators to participate in a training course with the EMS Team on how to handle the online payments in EMS). You can find the Training Manual “Management Competition Fees” in the EMS Newsletter #24
Update Officials’ status in EMS (Judges’ levels, etc.)
Please note that it is not up to the global EMS Team to keep the IWWF Officials’ database updated. We have more than 4’500 Officials worldwide in all disciplines and all countries and this is the role of:
· The EMS Federation Administrators for all Officials at National level
· The EMS Discipline Administrators for all Officials at International level
Should you have any question regarding your Officials, please contact your respective World, Confederation or National Sport Councils for guidance.
Cablewakeboard implementation in EMS
The EMS Team and the Cablewakeboard Council are testing the data migration process from Cablewakeboard.net to EMS. Some work remains to be done (Cablewakeboard ranking list, test the new scoring system SCORE NOW, training of the Scorers and other Officials, information of the users, etc.). The introduction is postponed to a later date in 2024. More information to follow nearer the date. In the meantime, the Cablewakeboard Community continues to use the Cablewakeboard.net system. For any further question, contact the president of the Cablewakeboard Council Suzi Nightingale suzi@ukwaterparks.com .
Athletes registered in EMS under two Federations – Attention to IWWF Eligibility rules!
An Athlete cannot have two Athlete profiles in EMS, nor ski/ride under two different country flags. Those having participated in Titled Events in the past are also subject to the IWWF Eligibility rules to change from a Federation to another.
Therefore, before registering a new unknown Athlete under your country in EMS, please check first whether his/her name appears under another flag/country in the Athletes’ database of the EMS Public Section (this is not visible in the Member Section). If it is the case, please clarify with the athletes for which country he/she wants to ski/ride and report the case to IWWF General Secretary Louis Polome secgen@iwwf.sport .
Ask your Athletes to update their EMS profile – A request from the IWWF Media Team
Please make sure that all your athletes participating at World or Confederation Events (World and Confederation Championships, World Cups, World Games, etc.) are invited as EMS Users in the IWWF EMS system and update their IWWF EMS Athlete’s profile with pictures, hobbies, personal information, sponsors, etc. This is a request from the IWWF Media Team on behalf of the event speakers.
